The Fast Set was originally just electronics wizard David Knight. He released a 7" single featuring the original composition Junction 1 as well as a cover of T. Rex's Children of the Revolution on the B-side. This was the very first release on Axis Records, the label which went on to become the leading independent 4AD. In early 1980 vocalist Marc Sebastian Jones and guitarist Peter Farrugia joined up with Knight to form a band. They were all primarily influenced by electronic artists such as Kraftwerk
